Prepared Childbirth Classes

Our classes are taught by Christy Corbin, RN. The sessions are designed to educate and help you understand the process of labor and delivery.

Classes are fun and informative; information shared during the classes includes the following topics:

What to expect during the last month of pregnancy
Oncoming signs of labor
When to go to the hospital
Stages of labor
Delivery room procedure
Cesarean sections
Postpartum experience
The amazing newborn

Also included in the classes are tours at South Georgia Medical Center of:

Labor and Delivery
Newborn Nursery
Postpartum Care at South Georgia Medical Center

Schedule

Prepared childbirth classes are held one night each month. The class is held in our front lobby at 6:30pm and will last approximately three hours in length. We ask that you bring a support person, two pillows and wear comfortable clothing. The fee for the childbirth class is $25 (non-refundable) and covers the cost of class books and educational material. Please give your payment to the instructor at the beginning of class.

You should register for childbirth classes at your 28-week obstetrical visit. The schedule is posted at the check-out desk in our office. We look forward to seeing you in class.
